Alma is the first student restaurant to offer dishes with an ecoscore

Alma is pleased to announce that it is offering meals with an ecoscore in its 10 student restaurants: the Alma Eco-Score. A scoop for Belgium.

Ecoscore is a comprehensive rating system that estimates the environmental impact of food production. In other words, based on an ecological database, it calculates the impact of how ingredients are grown on our planet.

The Alma Eco-Score is visualised with the familiar coloured letter labels A, B, C, D and E, with a ‘food touch’. A dish marked with ecoscore A has minimal impact while ecoscore E represents maximum impact. With this system, KU Leuven students and staff will be able to make informed decisions about their meal choices.

We are proud of this move towards more sustainable food and hope our customers will join us in reducing our collective impact on the environment.

At Alma, we believe that small changes can make a big difference and we are determined to do our part to create a more sustainable future.

The Alma Eco-Score applies in all our student restaurants and foodcorners. With an informative campaign in the restaurants and on social media, we hope to convince as many people as possible.

We look forward to continuing to serve healthy and even more sustainable meals and contribute to a healthier planet.
